Solace for the Children provides medical care, as well as education and leadership development for the children of war-torn countries. Since 1997, our organization has been inspiring volunteers to take children in to their homes and see that they have their critical medical needs met.
Wherever children are affected by war, Solace will offer the children healing and tools for bringing lasting peace, beginning with the children of Afghanistan.
Afghan children have been the innocent victims of war for more than 30 years. While many international efforts are working to rebuild necessary infrastructure across Afghanistan, even the most basic of human needs cannot regularly be met.
One physician for each 50,000 citizen struggles to do all within their ability, yet with little or no equipment in the vast areas of the country, and little medical training beyond simple basics available to these courageous individuals, they are forces to watch the children of their country suffer and die.
The Summer Program is a medical travel program administered June – August. Children who are casualties of war-torn countries, ages 7 – 12 are qualified for the opportunity to travel to the United States for six weeks and receive medical treatment that is unavailable to them.

Educational Programming that supports participants once they return home in a healthier state. Returning healthy to home, many of the children have the first opportunity to attend school. Solace provides basic support to make this possible.
